Open Studios on May 19th and 20th, 2007 at 43-01 22nd Street, Long Island City, Queens was the annual event held each Spring. This year some 90 artists opened their studios. This year's visitors were the most curious and inquiring to date. The atmosphere was friendly; and many connections were forged.
Open Studios was held in conjunction with other artists at the Juvenal Reis Studio building,where there are nearly 100 other artists. www.juvenalreisstudios.com.
April 4-29th marked the exbhit entitled: "The Bomb Show: Martie Holmer and Sam Still". Both artists have work which uses bomb imagery. The Window Gallery, a small space in Long Island City, a few blocks from PS1, was an excellent place to view this work. The show was well received, and more of this work can be seen either in the upcoming Open Studios at 43-01 22nd Street, May 19 and 20th, or by contacting Martie (Martieholmer@mac.com) or Sam (contact@samstill.com).
